  • Love Letter Ceremony

    Wine and Love Letter Ceremony

This ceremony is also called the Wine and Love Letter Ceremony. Sometime before the wedding, both the bride and groom write a love letter to the other.  The letter should include things about why they want to get married and other nice things.  They both seal their letters without letting the other read it.  During the ceremony on the wedding day, they take their favorite bottle of wine (or other beverage)  and seal it into the box with the love letters.  The officiant will explain the significance of the box and the letters during the ceremony. The box can be any type of box that is large enough to hold the letters and the wine.  After the ceremony they will place the box someplace in their home.  On their first anniversary  the couple open the box and drink the wine and read their letters.  They then replace the wine and add a new letter.  Each year they repeat the process.  They could also add in special mementos of that year. In this way they will create a time capsule of their married life together.

  • Rose Ceremony

    Rose Ceremony

In the rose ceremony, the bride and groom will exchange a rose.  The idea is that a rose is the symbol of love so it is only fitting that your first gift to each other would be a rose. This ceremony can also include a special vase just to hold the two roses.  The idea is that you would put the vase someplace special and whenever you wanted to be reminded of your wedding day, you would put a rose in the vase.

  • Sand Ceremony

    Sand Ceremony

The Sand Ceremony is a great alternative to the Unity Candle Ceremony as it can be done outdoors without worrying about the candles blowing out.  It can also be done with small children without worrying about setting them on fire.  In this ceremony each person would have a small container filled with sand that represents them.  Most couples choose a different color of sand for each person.  During the ceremony, each person adds their sand into a larger container.  The idea is that just as the grains of sand can never be emptied back into their original containers, so their lives will always be intertwined.  The finished container makes a great keepsake that can be displayed on a mantle or other significant place in your home.  This ceremony can be done with just the bride and groom, the bride and groom and their children, or the bride and groom and their parents.

  • Unity Candle Ceremony

    Unity Candle Ceremony

The Unity Candle ceremony is a popular choice for indoor weddings.  It consists of using a small taper candle for each person participating in the ceremony and one large candle that will be lit with the smaller tapers.  The idea is that the larger flame represents the family joining and becoming more that any one person could become alone.

  • Wine and Chocolate Ceremony

    Wine and Chocolate Ceremony

In this ceremony the bride and groom will share some wine and chocolate.  By sharing wine and chocolate together the bride and groom  are showing that they are willing to share the bitter as well as the sweet with each other.  This can also be done where the chocolate is also given out to the guests and they eat it signifying that they also also willing to help the couple through the bitter and sweet times.  This ceremony can be customized to be just a wine ceremony or just a chocolate ceremony. (The sharing of the wine or chocolate with guests is optional, but they all like it!)
